Five of Drum Corps International?s top drum lines and their premier percussion educators come together this summer to present the OnQ National Drumming Camp at four key locations around the United States. Now is your chance to learn the secrets of the world?s most elite and exclusive marching percussion ensembles when you take part in a hands-on camp experience that you?ll have to experience to believe!

About
This exciting weekend of education will be held on the campus of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in conjunction with the Bluecoats? Spring Training. The camp will include instruction by Michael McIntosh and our staff of highly trained snare drum technicians. You will also have the opportunity to participate in several interactive events with the Bluecoats drum line and full corps.

Your fee for the camp includes a FREE pair of Innovative Pecussion drum sticks, an OnQ National Drumming Camp T-shirt, and a book containing all of the music and exercises for the weekend. Yamaha will provide snare drums for the camp, but you will need to bring your own snare stand.

While no dress code is enforced, students should dress comfortably while keeping in mind an atmosphere of professional learning must be allowed to exist. Your attire cannot interfere with fellow participants? ability to experience the camp curriculum to the fullest. Much of the camp will take place outdoors, so we encourage proper sun protection at all times. Weather in central Ohio at this time of year is unpredictable, so students should bring clothing for any condition.

Drum! Drum ! Drum!

This camp will present a chance for intermediate and advanced level snare drummers to focus on snare technique and ensemble playing.

You'll work with some of the best marching snare drummers in the activity, and you'll drum from sunrise to sunset! By the end of camp, you'll even see yourself playing side by side with the Bluecoats snare line.

A complete focus on snare line playing, you'll have no distractions from other sections.

If you intend to play snare drum at the highest level ? drum corps or college band ? this camp is a great way to immerse yourself in snare playing.

Snare drums will be provided by Yamaha. Bring your own snare stand and sticks (though you'll leave with a new pair of snare sticks courtesy of The Bluecoats).

The staff for the National Drumming Camp in Columbus will be made up of clinicians, counselors and directors who are all active alumni or staff members of the Bluecoats organization. They are highly talented and creative people who have been teaching at all levels for many years. Not only has our outstanding staff produced outstanding results, they are also very dedicated to providing a positive educational experience for all of our students.

Travel and Housing
Students will be housed in dorms on the campus of Denison University, but will need to provide their own linens and/or sleeping bag and pillow as well as general toiletries. The Bluecoats food service program will provide all meals while in attendance.

Parents are welcome to visit at anytime during the camp, but we ask that they stay in a near-by hotel. Here are a few hotels within a 10-minute drive of the campus of Denison University:

    This exciting camp will be held on the campus of Yucaipa High School in conjunction with The Blue Devils Southern California Performance Weekend.

    Admissions to any and all social functions will be provided by The Blue Devils. Your fee includes a FREE pair of drum sticks; a OnQ National Drumming Camp t-shirt; and a book containing all of the music and exercises for the weekend...AND a free ticket to the Western Corps Connection show at Riverside Community College. We will use snare drums for the entire camp that will be provided by Dynasty USA. Please bring your own snare stand.

    We will provide snare drums, but you MUST bring your own snare stand. If you do not own one yet, and would like to, you can purchase the P22-DSPS Dynasty Snare Drum Stand and it will be yours to take home after the camp. We will not have any on hand, so you'll need to pre-order. If you would like to purchase the Dynasty DFX 14 snare drum you will be playing on, you can do so as well! Boxes will be on hand so you can take it home with you after the camp whether you're driving or flying home. Drums are black shell with silver hardware, and the stands are black too. Please note: purchasing the snare drum or snare stand are OPTIONAL.

    This will be a day camp. You will need to be at Yucaipa High School each morning at 8:30 AM. We encourage you to provide your own transportation to and from the camp. The hotel listed below is very near the school where you can stay in the evenings. But if you need ride to the school you must email the camp staff at camps@bluedevils.org. You will be picked up in the lobby at 8:00AM

    Meals will be provided by The Blue Devils food service program.

    Your parents are welcome to visit at anytime during the camp. The Americas Best Value Inn is only 2 miles from the university campus.
